Dot Connect Privacy Policy

Introduction

Signal8 Games ("we", "us") develops Dot Connect, a puzzle game for Android and iOS. This privacy policy explains what data is collected when you play Dot Connect and how that data is used.

This policy covers only Dot Connect. For information about how we handle data when you visit our website, see our website privacy policy.

Information Dot Connect Collects

Dot Connect uses third-party services for advertising, analytics, crash reporting, and in-app purchases. These services are Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Remote Config, and Google Play Billing (Android) / Apple's App Store (iOS).

Dot Connect itself does not collect personal information directly. The third-party services listed above collect data as described in the sections below.

Advertising

Dot Connect shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob collects the following types of data:

  • Advertising ID (your device's ad identifier)
  • IP address (used to estimate your general location)
  • App interactions (such as ad views and taps)
  • Device information (device model, operating system version)
  • Diagnostic data (app performance information)

AdMob uses this data to serve relevant ads. For more details, see Google AdMob Policies.

Analytics

Dot Connect uses Firebase Analytics to understand how players interact with the game, such as which levels are popular and where players get stuck. Firebase Analytics collects the following types of data:

  • App-instance ID (a random identifier assigned to your app installation)
  • Advertising ID
  • Coarse location (derived from your IP address, not precise GPS)
  • Gameplay events (such as level completions, screen views, session duration)
  • Device metadata (operating system, app version)

Crash Reporting

Dot Connect uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix bugs. Crashlytics data is only collected when the app crashes. It collects the following types of data:

  • Stack traces (technical details about what went wrong)
  • Device metadata (OS version, device model, CPU architecture, available RAM and disk space)
  • Crashlytics installation UUID (a random identifier for your app installation)
  • Crash timestamp and app state (foreground or background, app version)

Remote Configuration

Dot Connect uses Firebase Remote Config to deliver feature flags and configuration values (such as ad frequency settings) without requiring an app update. Remote Config collects the following types of data:

  • App-instance ID
  • Device metadata (operating system, app version, country/region derived from IP address)

Remote Config does not collect personally identifiable information. For more details, see Firebase Privacy and Security.

In-App Purchases

Dot Connect offers optional in-app purchases such as hint packs. On Android, payments are processed by Google Play Billing under Google's privacy policy. On iOS, payments are processed by Apple's App Store under Apple's privacy policy. Signal8 Games does not collect, store, or have access to your payment details (such as credit card numbers or billing addresses) on either platform.

Your Consent

When you first open Dot Connect, you may see a consent dialog asking about data collection and personalised ads.

  • If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you will see options to accept or manage your preferences. You can choose which types of data collection you consent to.
  • If you are in the United States, you may see a notice about data sharing with an option to opt out.
  • In other regions, a consent dialog may not appear.

You can revisit your privacy choices at any time through the privacy settings option within Dot Connect.

On iOS, you may also see an Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether Dot Connect can track your activity across other apps and websites. If you decline, your advertising identifier will not be shared with ad networks. You can change this at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Your Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These include the right to access your personal data, request correction or deletion, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing.

If you are in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These include the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

How to exercise your rights:

  • Contact us at support@signal8games.com with your request
  • Manage your Google ad preferences at Google Ad Settings
  • Delete app data through the Google Play Store (go to your app's storage settings and clear data)
  • On iOS, manage app tracking in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
  • For data held by third-party services, visit their privacy policies linked above to learn about their deletion processes

Children's Privacy

Dot Connect is intended for players aged 13 and older. Signal8 Games does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through Dot Connect, please contact us at support@signal8games.com and we will take steps to remove it.

Data Retention

Data collected by third-party services (AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) is retained according to each service's own data retention policies. Signal8 Games does not independently store personal data from Dot Connect players. See the links above for each service's privacy policy for their retention details.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of Dot Connect after changes indicates acceptance.
